The ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is heading towards its next round. A total of 20 teams took part and competed in four different groups. As per the schedule, two top teams from each group have now made it to the Super 8. However, teams like Pakistan, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka couldn’t qualify, which came as a surprise to many. Now, there are two groups in the Super 8 with four teams. The top two teams from both groups will make the semis.

1. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (AFG)
Afghanistan have surprised many, and the way they have performed has been remarkable. Rahmanullah Gurbaz has played a big role in the team’s success. He has given the team brilliant starts and has scored the most runs in the group stage of the tournament. He registered 76, 80, and 11 runs in the first three innings. So far, he has scored 167 runs at an average and strike rate of 55.66 and 154.62, respectively, with ten sixes.
2. Travis Head (AUS)
Travis Head entered the T20 World Cup 2024 with some brilliant form in the IPL 2024. And he didn’t disappoint anyone. Head has been superb and has played some crucial roles for his team. His innings against England and Scotland helped the team to win. Head has scored 148 runs in four innings at an average of 49.33 and a strike rate of 157.44, with a best of 68. He will be the perfect opening partner of Gurbaz in this team.
3. Rishabh Pant (IND) – Wicket Keeper
Not many batters did well at No. 3 for teams in this tournament. And if we consider those teams that have qualified for Super 8, we find that Rishabh Pant has done a pretty decent job in this tournament. 4. Aaron Jones (USA)
The United States made their debut in the T20 World Cup and are playing this tournament for the first time. Who would have thought that they beat Pakistan and qualified? Well, the USA are now in the Super 8 and one player that did well for them is Aaron Jones. The 29-year-old set the tone with an unbeaten 94 in the very first game against Canada. Then he scored 36 not out against Pakistan in a tricky chase. He has shown great maturity, and with his current form, he can be No. 3 in this team.
5. Marcus Stoinis (AUS)
Marcus Stoinis has been in red-hot form this season. The Australian all-rounder has scored the most runs for his team and has also chipped in with wickets. He has won two man of the match awards for Australia in this tournament. Stoinis has scored 156 runs at an average and strike rate of 78 and 190.24, respectively. He has scored two half-centuries with a best of 67 not out. With the ball, he has taken six wickets at an economy rate of 5.77.
6. David Miller (SA)
South Africa have won four out of four matches in the T20 World Cup 2024 and have made it to the next round. The left-hander scored runs when it mattered the most. He played some innings under pressure. Hence, he will be the perfect guy to bat in the middle order in this team. Miller has scored 101 runs in four innings at an average of 50.50 and a best of 59 not out. His fifty came under pressure when his team was almost out in the game.
7. Hardik Pandya (IND)
Hardik Pandya had a horrible performance in the IPL 2024 for Mumbai Indians. As a result, he faced a lot of criticism from the fans. But as soon as he returned in Indian colours, he was rilliant. Though he didn’t have many chances with the bat, he played one inning for seven runs. But with the ball, he has taken seven wickets in just three matches at an economy rate of 5.41. So, he is a perfect all-rounder for this team.
8. Rashid Khan (AFG) – Captain
Afghanistan has been brilliant in this tournament, and one of the main reasons is the form of their key players. Especially the captain, Rashid Khan. We all know that Rashid is the match-winner, and he can also add value with the bat. That’s why we have picked him as the captain of this team. Rashid has picked up six wickets in three matches at a brilliant economy rate of 9.50, and he can come and wack up big sixes at No. 8 as well.
9. Adam Zampa (AUS)
You can’t keep a guy who has won two Man of the Match awards in this tournament. That’s Adam Zampa for you. The Australian leg-spinner has been brilliant and is doing a great job for his team. He has taken 9 wickets in just four matches at an economy rate of 5.87. Australia have been involved in some high-scoring games, but he has bowled well, controlled the runrate, and also taken wickets in the middle. So he will be the second spinner in the team after Rashid.
10. Jasprit Bumrah (IND)
There have been a few good options to choose from. And Anrich Nortje and Tanzim Hasan Sakib also did well and took nine wickets each in four games. But these are new ball bowlers, and we need a bowler who can control the rate in the final overs. That’s why we have picked up India’s Jasprit Bumrah as the premier pacer for the team. Bumrah won two consecutive Man of the Match awards to start with. He has five wickets in three innings at an economy rate of 4.09. He will be a perfect bowler for this team.
11. Fazalhaq Farooqi (AFG)
The left-arm pacer from Afghanistan Fazalhaq Farooqi has been unplayable in this tournament so far. He is the leading wicket-taker in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He has taken a total of 12 wickets in just three games at an incredible economy rate of 3.70. Farooqi has registered the bowling figures of 5/9, 4/17, and 3/16. He is taking wickets with the new ball and making sure that his team gets off to a good start. He still has one more game to add a few more wickets to his tally ahead of the Super 8.
