Sanju Samson is a right-handed wicketkeeper-batter from India. A technically sound batter played in the middle order and was known for his stylish shot-making ability and attacking game.
Samson has brilliant wicket-keeping skills and also has leadership qualities. Samson made his first-class debut for Kerala at the age of 17. The wicketkeeper batter got picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2012 Indian Premier League auction, but unfortunately he didn’t get a chance to show his talent in the biggest T20 league that year. In 2013, the Rajasthan Royals invested in Sanju Samson at an IPL player auction. Samson made his IPL debut at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, on April 14, 2013 against Kings XI Punjab. Samson also played for the Delhi Daredevils, in 2021 Rajasthan backed him and gave him the captaincy of the franchise. The first three-figure score for Sanju Samson came in the Delhi jersey against Raising Pune Supergiant at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. In the first inning, playing at number 3, Samson scored 102 runs from 63 balls with a strike rate of 161.90. Samson smashed 8 fours and 5 sixes. Due to the brilliant innings of Samson, Delhi was able to set a big target of 205 runs against Raising Pune Supergiant. The century number 2 for Sanju Samson in the Indian Premier League was against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, on March 29, 2019. Samson played an attacking inning of unbeaten 102 runs from just 55 balls. Samson hit 10 fours and 4 maximums in that inning and played with a strike rate of 185.45. Unfortunately, Rajasthan Royals lost that match against SRH.
The third hundred for Sanju Samson came as a captain of the Rajasthan Royals.
