Rinku Singh Century in IPL, ODIs and T20I matches (Including 2024)

Rinku Singh is a left-handed batter from India and a rising star of Indian cricket. Rinku Singh was born on October 12, 1997, in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Rinku Singh is an attacking left-handed batter who plays in the lower middle order. Rinku Singh plays fluent strokes, and his strike-making ability helps him to be a good finisher.

Rinku Singh was selected for the Uttar Pradesh under-16 team in 2013. Rinkure represented his state, Uttar Pradesh, in under-19 cricket as well. Rinku Singh was picked up by Kings XI Punjab at an auction price of 10 lakhs for the 2017 Indian Premier League season, but he did not get a chance to prove his talent in the toughest T20 league. In the 2018 IPL season, Rinku Singh went to the Kolkata Knight Riders at an auction for a price of Rs 80 lakh. In the mega auction before IPL 2022, KKR signed Rinku Singh for a price of 55 lakhs. In 2023 and 2024, KKR retained Rinku Singh for the same price. 

Rinku came into the lights after an unbelievable innings against Kolkata Knight Riders at Gujarat Titans home ground Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.  On April 9 2023, In the second inning, while chasing a huge target of 204 runs, Rinku came to bat at No. 5 and scored an unbeaten 48 runs from just 21 balls. In the last over of the match, Rinku smashed five consecutive sixes and helped KKR to cross the line. That heroics from Rinku made him the first Indian batter to hit five consecutive sixes in the Indian Premier League. In that inning, Rinku batted with a strike rate of 155.17 and scored a total one four, and six sixes. 

Brilliant performance in the Indian Premier League and outstanding domestic match stats helped Rinku Singh get a chance into the Indian National Team. Rinku Singh made his Indian Premier League debut on April 8, 2019, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Till now, in the IPL, Rinku Singh has played 34 matches and registered 779 runs with an average of 35.41 and a strike rate of 144.80. Rinku scored four half-centuries in the IPL and has yet to score a century. As Rinku plays in the lower middle order, he doesn’t get a chance to face as many balls as top-order batters do, which means he has very few chances to score a hundred in the IPL in that batting position. The highest score for Rinku Singh in the IPL is an unbeaten 67 runs. On May 20, 2023, at Eden Gardens Kolkata, playing against Lucknow Super Giant Rinku, Rinku scored 67 from 33 balls with a strike rate of 203.03. In the chase, Rinku Singh smashed 6 fours and 4 maximums. Unfortunately, the Kolkata Knight Riders lost that match by just one run.

Rinku Singh Hundreds in ODI

In the One Day International Cricket, Rinku Singh has represented India in two matches till now. In those two matches, Rinku scored 55 runs with an average of 27.5 and a strike rate of 134.15. Rinku made his ODI debut on the India tour of South Africa at AT George’s Park, Gqeberha. Rinku scored 17 from 14 balls in his first ODI appearance. At the very beginning of his ODI career, Rinku already showed his class with the highest score of 38 runs. In the second match of Rinku’s ODI career, he scored 38 runs from 27 balls with 3 fours and 2 big sixes. Rinku batted with a strike rate of 140.74 in that inning. It’s just an initial phase of Rinku’s career; he has the potential, and it will be so nice to see him scoring big tons for India in the future. 

Rinku Singh Century in T20I’s

Rinku Singh made his T20 international debut against Ireland at Malahide, Dublin, during the India tour of Ireland on August 18, 2023. Rinku Singh did not get a chance to bat in that rain-affected match. In T20 International, Rinku Singh played 15 matches till now and scored 356 runs with an average of 89.00 and a strike rate of 176.23. Rinku Singh in T20 International has already registered two half centuries, and many more will come in the future. 

The highest score for Rinku Singh in a T20 international is 69 runs not out. against Afghanistan at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, in the first inning, Rinku registered an unbeaten 69 runs from just 39 balls. In that outstanding knock, Rinku scored 2 fours and 4 sixes. Rinku Singh is in good form and playing high-class cricket; if he gets a chance a little bit up in the batting order, he can score big runs.
