The Indian team has been in dominating form in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup after registering back-to-back eight wins and making it into the semi-finals by being on top of the points table. However, India are yet to play their last league match of the tournament in Bengaluru on Sunday 12th November. Still, it is not going to have an effect on the points table as India will remain on top irrespective of the result.
India are likely to play the semi-final on 15th November at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the same ground where the Men in Blue defeated Sri Lanka in the final of the 2011 World Cup to lift the title for the second time after 28 years. Now, history is repeating itself as India will take on the field at Wankhede again and a win will direct them into their fourth World Cup final.
However, to make things go India’s way, the contribution of every player in the playing XI. One of the players to watch out for in the semi-finals will be Ravindra Jadeja. The star all-rounder has stood out for India on big occasions, including the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, which kept the Indian hopes alive after the top order completely collapsed. However, India couldn’t win that game but Jadeja showed that he is a big match player. The 34-year-old is also having a great time in the ongoing tournament with both and ball.
Jadeja has scored 111 runs with the bat at an average of 55.50 and taken 14 wickets with the ball in eight games played so far. He showed all-round performance in the previous match against South Africa in Kolkata where he scored a quickfire 29 runs off 15 ball to take India’s total to 326 and then took a 5-wicket haul with the ball as India bowled the Proteas out for just 83 runs winning the game by 243 runs.
Notably, Jadeja is the only all-rounder that India currently have in the absence of Hardik Pandya and the fans will be expecting him to deliver again in an important match. Before that, let’s have a look at his stats as an all-rounder at the Wankhede Stadium.
