In 2011 MPCA started to renovate the stadium and inaugurated in June 2024 with a new name Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium. It is named after Madhavrao Scindia, a former BCCI president and Congress party member.
Located in the Shankargarh area in Gwalior West on National Highway 3 in Madhya Pradesh, the stadium is constructed in two stages and is still in its final stage. The first stage will hold a 30,000 seating capacity. After finishing the second stage, this International stadium will hold upto 50,000 cricket fans.
With completion, the stadium will possess amenities like a swimming pool, sauna bath, modern gym, dressing room, and 30 corporate boxes and also equipped with floodlights.
