M. Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report – IPL 2025
- 📍 Location: Bengaluru, India
- 🏏 Match Type: IPL / T20
- 🏠 Home Team: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)
✅ Pitch Type:
🟤 Batting-Friendly (with early help for pacers and late spin)
Chinnaswamy Stadium has been an image for the batter’s paradise. However, in the longer format like Test cricket, this ground supports both batters and bowlers equally. Its short boundaries welcome the batsmen to hit shots in 360° while pacers also seem like exploits, especially in the early overs. While seamers get some help with the early moisture on the pitch. As the game progresses the pitch gets flat and becomes batter paradise. Spinners come into the picture a little later when the pitch gets wrecked and dry. The ball will get extra bouncy and unpredictable making it harder for the batter to hit the ball.

Q: M. Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report: Batting or Bowling Today?
A: Historically, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has been known as a batting paradise due to its short boundaries and flat pitch. 1 However, in the IPL 2025 season so far, the pitch has been a bit tricky. Scores around 170-180 have been common. While it still generally favors batsmen, bowlers have found some assistance, especially spinners as the game progresses. Dew in the second innings can also make it easier to bat later. So, expect a fairly balanced contest with a slight edge to batting, especially in the first innings.
Q: M. Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report: Spin or Fast Today?
Traditionally, fast bowlers might get some swing and seam movement early on. However, as the pitch gets older and potentially drier, spin bowlers tend to become more effective, getting turn and grip. In the recent IPL 2025 matches at this venue, both pace and spin have had some impact. In the last few matches, the wickets have been fairly evenly split between pacers and spinners, although pacers have generally taken more wickets. Spinners like Yuzvendra Chahal and Glenn Maxwell can be particularly effective in the middle overs if the pitch is slow.
