Established in 1883, Arun Jaitley Stadium is the second oldest functional International cricket ground after Eden Gardens in India. Previously known as Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium named after the nearby โKotla Fortโ located on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in New Delhi. However, in 2019, the stadium was renamed to honor Arun Jaitley, former DDCA President and Finance Minister of India.
The stadium is owned and organized by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and home of the Delhi team in domestic cricket. The stadium is also the home ground of the IPL franchise Delhi Capital. Over the years, Arun Jaitley stadium went through many refurbishments which increased the seating capacity upto 55,000 and added a modern facility. The stadium is famous for its short boundaries. The shortest length of the Arun Jaitley Stadium is 59 meters in length and the longest boundary length is 70 meters.
