10. Sanath Jayasuriya
Former Sri Lankan player Sanath Jayasuriya was one of the most dangerous all-rounders from his country. The left-hander has held numerous records both as a batsman and a bowler. Jayasuriya reached the 150-run milestone in just 100 balls when he was up against the Netherlands in 2006 where he took his team to one of the highest totals in ODI history (443).
9. Herschelle Gibbs
Former South African legend Herschelle Gibbs played one of the best innings of his life when he was up against Australia in 2006. The latter had posted a mammoth 434 total against South Africa when Gibbs came in to bat. The task seemed nearly impossible as no other team had ever chased such a high target. However, the South African legend had some other plans. Gibbs played a fabulous innings of 175 which led his team to victory and accomplishing the highest-ever run chase in ODI cricket. Gibbs took 100 deliveries to cross the 150-run milestone.
8. Ricky Ponting
Known as one of the best batsmen of the era by many, former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting sought to take his standard to a different level as he featured against the Proteas right before scoring the highest-ever total to be chased. In a match of many records, Ponting also owned one by scoring one of the fastest 150s of the format in just 99 balls to swiftly take his team to a blasting score.
7. Sanath Jayasuriya
Jayasuriya held records for hitting the fastest 150s in the same calendar year. The left-hander was up against England in 2006 when he scored a dominant 150 of just 96 balls and chased a 321-run target by England to take the series in Sri Lanka’s pocket. Jayasuriya ended up as the player of the match as well as the series for his swashbuckling innings.
6. Luke Ronchi
Former Kiwi batsman Luke Ronchi was up against Sri Lanka in the 2014/15 ODI series where New Zealand opted to bat first. Ronchi played a gem of an innings, partnering with teammate Grant Elliot to take his team to a massive score of 360. Ronchi required 92 deliveries to complete the 150-run milestone and ended up as the player of the match.
5. Sharjeel Khan
Pakistani batsman Sharjeel Khan is considered one of the most aggressive cricketers in the country’s batting lineup. The left-hander had a lot to showcase while playing against Ireland in 2016. Khan notched a fabulous 150 runs off just 85 balls to take his team to a mammoth 337-run total which the team won convincingly.
4. Chris Gayle
Widely regarded for his dominant batting abilities, West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle was up against England in 2019 where the latter posted a huge 418 total for the hosts. However, the West Indies opener sought to fight back as he completed the 150-run milestone in 85 balls. Although Gayle could not take his team to victory, he entered the record books as the fastest player from his country to reach the 150-run mark.

English Wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Butler has been a nightmare for all the bowlers who have played against him. Butler was up against the West Indies in 2019 where he bashed all the bowlers over the park to sky-rocket his team to a fabulous 418-run target with his spell-binding knock of 150 from just 77 which also remains the fastest by any English player.
2. Shane Watson
Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson was often one of the prime reasons for turbulences in many bowling line-ups in his time. The right-hander entered the middle with a zeal to prove himself in his younger days against Bangladesh in 2011. Watson smacked an unbeaten 185 from just 96 balls, reaching the 150 mark in just 83 which is also the fastest by any Australian player in the world.
1. AB De Villiers
Former Protean batsman AB De Villiers was on a rampage against the West Indies at the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. The right-hander had no mercy to offer as he smacked the West Indian bowlers all over the park to enter the record books as the fastest player to reach the 150-run milestone. De Villiers did not require more than 64 balls to name this accomplishment to his name.
