The Nassau County Stadium is a modular sports facility constructed to host the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the United States. It is located in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York. The stadium was built with modernized architecture to capture the beautiful view of the match as well as the stadium. It holds the 34,000 seating capacity for cricket fans ahead of the T20 World Cup matches. 

There will be a total 8 games witnessed by the Nassau County Stadium including the highly anticipated match between IND and PAK on 9th June. The stadium hosted its first cricket game for Sri Lanka and South Africa. Nassau County Stadium, New York Pitch Report: Bowling or Batting

After hosting two games one SL vs SA group stage match 4 and the IND vs BAN warm-up match, it’s clear that Nassau Stadium is not a batter-friendly pitch. Many reports claimed that due to the Adailade soil used in building the stadium, it will possess the same qualities. 

However, it can’t be said, after the SL vs SA low-scoring match at Nassau County Stadium. Whereas SL was expecting to score 160-170 runs, South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje stopped their run supply by scalping 4 wickets in for only 7 runs. Although the Proteas hunted down the 78 targets by scoring 80 runs in 16.2 overs, they were also troubled by Sri Lanka’s bowlers.    

In a second warm-up match between India vs Bangladesh, Team Rohit chose to bat first and posted a 185-run target. In response, Bangladesh scored 122/9 in 20 overs and lost the match by 60 runs.

It is also hard to predict the true nature of the pitch whether it’s pacer-friendly or spinners-friendly. The Pacers in both matches had a great time whereas the spinners in the SL vs SA game had some success. In the warm-up match, Indian spinners seemed to struggle to take wickets. It can only mean the pitch favors the pacers and for spinners, it depends on skills and technique of ball delivery.  

For now, the Nassau County Stadium pitch is highly unpredictable. It can’t be said about what will increase the chance of winning batting first or second.
