The Vitality T20 Blast is currently running in its 22nd edition commenced on May 30th, 2024. So far the top eight teams with 4-4 from each North and South group have already qualified for the next Playoffs stage of the Tournament. English orthodox bowler Danny Briggs is one of the most talented bowlers in the country. Briggs has been excelling in his domestic cricket career playing with Hampshire, Sussex County Cricket Club during his T20 Blast career. Danny Briggs is the most wicket taker of the Vitality Blast with 241 wickets from the 203 games he played in his career. Once he bagged 5 five-wicket haul for just 19 runs in the Vitality Blast which is his career-best bowling figure.
2. Samit Patel – 217 wickets
Next is Samit Patel, an English all rounder who has scalped a total of 217 wickets in his 243 matches. He bagged all these wickets while playing for the Notts Outlaws (Nottinghamshire) and Derbyshire Falcons franchise in the T20 Blast career. His highest-best bowling figure is 4 wicket haul for 20 runs in the T20 Blast career.
3. Chris Wood – 189 wickets
English Southpaw medium pacer Chris Woods is in the 3rd position of T20 Blast’s most wicket-takers in history. To this date, Chris Wood scalped 189 wickets with an economy rate of 8.13 and an average rate of 25.83. His best bowling figure is a five-wicket haul for 32 runs.
4. Tom Smith – 185 wickets
Then comes Tom Smith, who has been playing for Sussex, Surrey, and Middlesex before moving permanently to the Gloucestershire franchise. Tom Smith has taken 185 wickets in the 177 games during his T20 Blast career. Tom’s best bowling figure 5 wicket haul for 16 runs in the Vitality Blast tournament
5. David Payne – 184 wickets
English pacer David Payne is in the 5th position of the most wicket-takers among the top 10 T20 Blast. During his career, David Payne played for Gloucestershire and took 184 wickets with an economy rate of 8.02 and an average of 20.88.
