The T20 Blast is one of the oldest T20 domestic leagues which happens every year in England and Wales originally started in 2003. It is one of the top-level cricket leagues; several first-class cricketers participate in the Vitality T20 Blast in each edition. This blog will cover all the top 10 most run scorers of the T20 Blast in the history of the tournament.
But first, what is T20 Blast, and why is it called Vitality T20 Blast?
The T20 Blast is an English Domestic Cricket League started and organized by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Currently known as Vitality T20 Blast due to a sponsorship reason. The shortest cricket format also follows the basic T20 standards with bowlers delivering 4 overs each in an innings.

Most Runs in T20 Blast 2024
Currently, Vitality T20 Blast is in its 22nd edition in 2024 already started on 30 May, and will be held its final game on 14th September. With 18 teams participating in the tournament divided into 2 groups: North and South.
So far each team in both groups has played either 12 or 13 group stage matches: In North Group, the Birmingham Bears, Lancashire Lightning, Leicestershire Foxes, and Northants Steelbacks are the top four teams qualifying for the Playoffs stage.
For the South group, Surrey Country Club, Sussex Sharks, Somerset County Club, and Essex Eagles Cricket Club are the top four teams qualifying for the next stage in the T20 Blast.
Currently, wicketkeeper and batter Michael Pepper who plays for the Esses Eagles is the on top the most run scorer in the ongoing T20 Blast tournament. Michael Pepper has bagged 515 runs with an average of 46.81 and an impressive strike rate of 196.56 in just 12 games.

1 James Vince – 5766 runs
Right-handed English batter James Vince is the top scorer of the T20 Blast tournament. Hampshire Captain James Vince has bagged 5766 runs from his 192 games during his T20 Blast career. Vince has the highest score of unbeaten 129 runs in his T20 England Cup career.
2 Joe Denly – 5242 runs
English Top batter Joe Denly comes next on the list of T20 Blast’s most run scorers in history. So far Denly has played 202 games and amassed 5242 runs with a 126.52 strike rate and a 28.64 average rate. His highest score for the T20 Blast is 127 runs. He scored this huge score while playing for the Kent Spitfires and Middlesex franchises in the Vitality T20 Blast.
3 Luke Wright – 5026 runs
Then comes veteran top batter Luke Wright bagged 5026 runs while playing for the Sussex Sharks franchise. Luke registered this feat in just 180 games with an average of 32.84 and a strike rate of 148.47. His highest score in the tournament is an unbeaten 153.
4 Steven Croft – 4995 runs
Batting allrounder Steven Croft is in the 4th position of the T20 Blast’s most run scorer in history. Croft has collected 4995 runs during his 230 games for the Lancashire Lightning teams. He managed to score with an average of 30.64 and a strike rate of 125.62.
5 Alex Hales – 4825 runs
Last but not least Alex Hales is one of the top batters of English featuring in Worldwide domestic leagues including LPL 2024. Alex Hales is in the top 5 batters for scoring the most runs in the T20 Blast Tournament history. To this date, Alex Hales has posted 4825 runs with an average of 29.24 and a strike rate of 151.06.
