This year’s tournament will showcase five esteemed franchise teams competing initially in a round-robin format across 20 matches, followed by knockout playoffs for the top four teams which is Scheduled from July 1 July 21,2024
Since 2020, the Lanka Premier League finals have seen four champions. The Jaffna Stallions won the inaugural season by defeating the Galle Gladiators by 53 runs. And since then have remained unbeaten winning three titles in their names except the last fourth edition which was won by the B-Love Candy defeating Dambulla. With the new season to unfold it would be interesting to note that LPL will get a whole new face as winning champions or the Jaffna kings will return to get their title back.
LPL 2024 Teams
The Lanka Premier League will feature a total of five teams in this edition of the tournament named as Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Sixers, Galle Marvels, Jaffna Kings, and B-Love Kandy. Representing various regions and backed by passionate fans these teams will be competing in the fast paced twenty over double round robin tournament. Each team brings its unique strengths and strategies to the tournament, promising exhilarating matches and intense rivalries on the field.
LPL 2024 Captains List
With the upcoming fifth edition of the tournament the teams have handed on the responsibility of the mentorship to the best skilled players of the team, the captains. These teams will be led in the tournament by the best man who comes with experience, techniques and a sense of responsibility to guide the team and hold on to players whenever needed. LPL 2024 Tournament Format
The LPL 2024 is twenty over format tournament where teams will go on head on head battles in the round robin format, each competing with each other in total of twenty matches in the group stage and then the top four ranked teams will face each other in the playoffs/ knockout matches where the two Qualifier and 1 eliminator match will take place. The winner from these two will face each other in the Finale match scheduled to take place on the 21st July 2024.
LPL 2024 Auction
The LPL Auction for 2024 took place on the 21 st May 2024 at Hilton Hotel Colombo. Over 420 cricketers international and domestic ones went down the auction to join five of the franchise of the tournament.With a pocket amount of cash, the team owner put bids to get their favorites join their team but only a few could get lucky. Citing this opportunity Maheesh Pathirana became the person to be sold for the most expensive bid of the tournament becoming the highest bidding player The LPL 2024 Auction by signing of the Colombo Strikers. This year the Auction was led by Charu Sharma.
LPL 2024 Points Table
The top performances of the teams will be jotted down on the points table for the whole of the league and these performances will be analyzed and the ranking of this point table will be updated with each team playing matches, Runs, past wins or loss. The top performing teams meet and will have a head to head competition in the last knockout/ playoff matches followed by the final of the season on the 21st July 2024.

The LPL 2024 season where the tournament will involve 5 teams competing at the three different venues in Sri Lanka. The whole of the tournament will take place in the Host country itself in venues mentioned below:
