Lanka Premier League is a professional cricket tournament which is played domestically in Sri-Lanka. The LPL is a twenty overformat cricket league which is organized annually. Administered by the Sri-Lanka Cricket, LPL has successfully hosted its four editions out of which three are won by the Jaffna kings.
The LPL features five franchise teams, each named after a Sri Lankan city. The upcoming season, the fifth edition of the LPL, kicks off on July 1st and culminates on July 21st, 2024.
The Galle Marvel squad is a dynamic mix of experienced players and also of emerging players making it a perfect balance for the team to give a tough competition to any opponent in the whole tournament. Led by captain Niroshan Dickwella, who also handles the wicket keeping duties, the team features explosive batters such as Alex Hales, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Janith Liyanage. They are complemented by the likes of Lasith Croospulle and Pasindu Sooriyabandara, adding depth to the batting lineup. Followed by amazing All rounders, the Marvels have super Marvelous players to take on the team duties.
This year with an eye for the tournament Galle marvels are all set to clinch their first ever title trophy, having built a team of players with experienced players and young emerging players, it’s a mix of young power and settled experience which is sure to guide the team on their path to success.
