Barsapara Stadium is a relatively new stadium that was established in 2012 by the Assam Cricket Association. It is officially named as Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium. It is the home ground of the Assam cricket team and is owned and operated by the Assam Cricket Association. The stadium has a maximum capacity extendable to 55,000 spectators.It hosted the Indian Premier League’s matches for the first time in April 2023, with the Rajasthan Royals playing two home games in the stadium as its second home venue.This initiative was put forth by the BCCI to have a cricketing impact in Northeast India. 1. Rajasthan Royals VS Punjab Kings-Match 8, IPL 2023

In the 8th match of the IPL 2023 season, Rajasthan Royals took on the Punjab Kings at the Barsapara Stadium, Assam. The toss went in the favour of the Royals captain, Sanju Samson and Rajasthan elected to field first.
Shikhar Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh got off to a flying start and put up an opening partnership of 90 runs until Jason Holder dismissed Prabhsimran. PBKS faced another setback after Rajapaksa was sent back retired hurt after a ball struck by Dhawan hit him on his hand while taking the evasive action. Jitesh Sharma played a cameo of 27 runs providing support to Dhawan at the other end. Shikhar Dhawan excellently ended the innings helping his team reach a total of 197 and he remained not out at the score of 86*(56).
In the second innings, Rajasthan got off to a poor start as they lost 3 wickets in the powerplay itself. Skipper Sanju steadied the ship with his 42(25) but got dismissed later. Hetmyer and Jurel tried to power their team home but failed in the process and ended up losing by 5 runs. Nathan Ellis won the man of the match award for his incredible bowling spell of 4/30(4).
2. Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals- Match 11, IPL 2023

In the 11th match of the season, David Warner, captain of the Delhi side, won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Jaiswal and Buttler started proceedings with a high as they had an opening stand of 98 runs until Mukesh Kumar dismissed Jaiswal for 60(31). Jos Buttler departed soon after an impactful knock of 79(51). Shimron Hetmyer smashed a quickfire 39(21) to take Rajasthan to a powerful total of 199/4(20).
Trent Boult kicked off the 2nd innings with a magnificent bowling spell dismissing Shaw and Pandey in the powerplay itself. David Warner and Lalit Yadav tried to set up a thrilling finish with valuable contributions but the spin duo of Ashwin and Chahal spun a web around the DC middle order. Rajasthan ended up winning the battle by a comfortable margin of 57 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was awarded the player of the match award for his valuable knock of 60(31) which helped the side set up a good total to defend.
3. Rajasthan Royals vs Punjab Kings- Match 65, IPL 2024

In Match 65 of IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals Skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bat first.
Yashasvi Jaiswal lost the battle against Sam Curran as he played the ball on to the stumps. After a flurry of wickets, Riyan Parag and Ravi Ashwin made an attempt to stitch together a partnership to post a defendable total on board and got a 50-run partnership as a result. RR failed to get any momentum in the innings and ended up with a low total of 144/9(20).
Punjab Kings were off to a poor start, losing 3 wickets in the powerplay; however, the skipper, Sam Curran, decided to take the matter into his own hands and scored a match-winning knock of 63(41) to steer the Punjab Kings to a 5-wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals. Sam Curran was named as the man of the match for his all-round contributions.
