Swapnil Singh got his maiden IPL contract in its inaugural edition in 2008 as Mumbai Indians acquired his services for ₹4 Lakhs in the auction. However, he didn’t get to play a single match in that edition. After that, Swapnil went on to miss the next few seasons and got his second IPL contract after eight years as Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings) bought him for ₹10 Lakhs in the IPL 2016 auction. He finally made his IPL debut in a match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on 4th May, 2016. After two years with Punjab, Swapnil again missed the few more seasons and was picked by Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) for ₹20 Lakhs in the IPL 2023 auction. However, he wasn’t effective with the ball for LSG and was released ahead of the IPL auction 2024 auction. In the auction, Swapnil was picked by RCB for ₹20 Lakhs and is set to play for his fourth franchise in the IPL.
