1. Dilshan Madushanka
The 23 year old Sri Lankan cricketer Dilshan Madushanka was recently bought by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 auction for INR 4.6 Crores. The left arm fast medium bowler is yet to make his debut in the Indian Premier league but has had some phenomenal performances in the past for the Sri Lankan team in the short format.
In the 14 T20 matches Dilshan Madushanka has played for Sri Lanka, he has registered 14 dismissals at a bowling average of 31 and a high economy of 9.43. The pacer has once concluded his spell for Sri Lanka with the best figures of 3/24.
2. Wanindu Hasaranga
The Sri Lankan short format captain Wanindu Hasaranga has showcased some stellar performances in the past for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. The bowling all-rounder has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL from 2021 to 23. Hasaranga was released from RCB ahead of the IPL 2025 auction and was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 1.5 Crores.
In the 26 matches he has played in the IPL, Wanindu Hasaranga has registered 35 dismissals and has put 72 runs on the board for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The all-rounder is yet to make his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025.
3. Nuwan Thushara
The Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Thushara was recently introduced in the tournament by Mumbai Indians. The five-time title winner welcomed the right arm medium fast bowler In the team’s squad in the IPL 2025 auction for a whopping price of INR 4.2 Crores.
The pacer is yet to make his debut in the IPL but has been renowned for recently taking a hat-trick in a T20I match against Bangladesh. In the 87 T20 and 8 T20I matches he has played in his career for Sri Lanka, Nuwan Thushara has registered 120 and 11 dismissals which didn’t fail to catch the attention of Mumbai Indians team management who fought for him for long in the IPL 2025 auction.
4. Matheesha Pathirana
The Chennai Super Kings prodigy, Matheesha Pathirana was introduced in the IPL 2022 for a base price of INR 20 Lakhs when he was just 19 years old. Under the insightful leadership of MS Dhoni, the young Sri Lankan pacer has flourished and has become one of the next big pacers for Sri Lanka.
In the 15 games Matheesha Pathirana has played for Chennai Super Kings since IPL 2022, he has registered 22 dismissals at an economy of 7.91 and a bowling average of 22.55. The fast bowler has once concluded his spell in the IPL with the best figures of 3/15.
5. Maheesh Theekshana
Chennai Super Kings welcomed yet another Sri Lankan cricketer in their squad in the IPL 2022 mega auction. The MS Dhoni lead side showed confidence in the young Sri Lankan all-rounder Maheesh Theekshana as they welcomed him to the yellow army for INR 70 Lakhs.
In the 23 games Maheesh Theekshana has played for Chennai Super Kings since IPL 2022, he has registered 23 scalps at an economy of 7.83 and a decent bowling average of 29.96. Theekshana hasn’t gotten many opportunities to showcase his talents with the bat and could only manage to score 7 runs in the two innings. The right arm off break bowler has registered a four wicket haul in the IPL and has once concluded his spell in the tournament with the best figures of 4/33.
