Sunrisers Hyderabad made their debut in the Indian Premier League. SRH played their first season in 2013 under the leadership of Kumar Sangakkara. They did well and made it to the playoffs in their maiden season. They have been one of the most consistent teams in the Indian Premier League.
Under David Warner, they won the IPL 2016 title, beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final. Later, they also played the final in 2018 under Kane Williamson. Overall, SRH have played 7 playoff seasons. And here we will talk about their overall performances in all these seasons.

1. 2013 – Fourth Place
SRH made it to the playoffs of the very first season in 2013 under Kumar Sangakkara. They finished the group stage in fourth place and made it to the playoffs after winning ten of the 16 matches in the group stage. But they lost Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals, were eliminated, and finished the tournament in fourth place.
2. 2016 – Champions
After 2013, SRH made their second playoff appearance in 2016 under David Warner. That was a memorable season for them, as they went on to win their maiden IPL title. Adding to that, SRH became the first team to win three playoff games to lift the title. They beat KKR in the Eliminator, then Gujarat Lions in Qualifier 2, and then RCB in the final to script history.
3. 2017 – Fourth Place
SRH made their third consecutive playoff appearance in 2017, when they finished third on the group stage. David Warner was the captain. But unfortunately, they couldn’t go further than that. SRH lost Eliminator against KKR by 7 wickets in a rain-hit game and finished the tournament in third place.
4. 2018 – Runners up
Later in 2018, when Kane Williamson was the captain, SRH made it to the playoffs again. They finished second in the group stage after winning nine out of 14 matches. SRH faced CSK in Qualifier 1 and lost. Then, they faced Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 2 and registered a 14-run win to advance to the final. They faced CSK again, this time in the final. But unfortunately, they lost it again and ended the season as runner-up.
5. 2019 – Fourth Place
Kane Williamson led SRH to consecutive playoff in 2019. They finished the group stage in fourth place with six wins and edged past KKR on the basis of NRR. They qualified for the Eliminator. And unfortunately, SRH lost the Eliminator against Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets and finished in fourth place.
6. 2020 – Third Place
David Warner was back in 2020 and led the team to the playoffs. SRH finished the group stage in third place with 14 points. They faced RCB in the Eliminator and won it by 6 wickets to advance to Qualifier 1. They faced Delhi Capitals in that game. Unfortunately, they finished on the wrong side and lost it by 17 runs to finish the season in third place.
