The captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the IPL 2025 season is Pat Cummins. Pat Cummins, the Australian World Cup-winning captain, was announced as the new skipper for SRH in March 2024, replacing Aiden Markram. Cummins is the only overseas captain in 2025.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a remarkable season in IPL 2024 as they finished second at the points table with eight wins from 14 games. SRH stood as a runner-up losing to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the fina after defeat with the same team in Qualifier 1. The ticket to the final was confirmed for SRH after beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 2. Now, SRH will be looking to perform better in IPL 2025 and become champions for the second time. Australian pacer Pat Cummins will continue his role as the skipper in the upcoming season.
Cummins was appointed as the captain of SRH for IPL 2024 because he left a mark on the world as an Australian captain. His stint as an Australian skipper is regarded as successful looking at the outstanding outcome of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and even the recent World Test Championship. That time he became the second most expensive player in the history of the IPL tournament. As anticipated, he led SRH to the final, having composed a solid squad. In this way, Cummins will be superheading as the SRH skipper in the upcoming season.
