Vidarbha batter Shubham Dubey has been bought by Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of IPL 2024. RR acquired his services for ₹5.80 crore in the ongoing auction in Dubai. Dubey plays for Vidarbha in domestic cricket and has shown good form in the 2023 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he amassed 221 runs in seven matches at an average of 73.66 and a strike rate of 187.28.
The inclusion of Dubey will provide more strength to RR’s middle order in the upcoming season. He was the first uncapped player to appear in the IPL 2024 auction with a base price of ₹20 Lakhs. Delhi Capitals were the first team to start bidding and were countered by RR. The 29-year-old got a big bid in his first IPL as RR finally bought him ₹5.80 crore after winning a bidding war against DC.
On the other hand, young UP batter Sameer Rizvi has been sold to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for ₹8.40 crore in the ongoing auction. Rizvi now joined the list of the most expensive uncapped Indian players in the IPL auction. The 20-year-old has been in tremendous form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 277 runs from seven matches at an average of 69.25 and a strike rate of 139.89. He can be seen batting in the middle order for CSK in the upcoming season of the IPL in 2024. The young cricketer will be looking to go big in IPL 2024 and have a memorable first season in the cash-rich league.
Rizvi appeared in the auction at a base price of ₹20 Lakhs with CSK becoming the first team to bid for him. CSK were countered by Gujarat Titans who left the bidding war at ₹7.40 crore. After that Delhi Capitals joined the bidding battler with CSK and the defending champions finally bought Rizvi in their squad for ₹8.40 Lakhs.
