Shashank Singh is an Indian Cricketer who plays for Chhattisgarh in domestic cricket and will be seen playing for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2025. Before joining Chhattisgarh, Shashank has also been a part of Mumbai and Puducherry in domestic cricket. He made his List A debut for Mumbai in Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Punjab in Hyderabad on 10th December, 2015. While, he got to play his first-class match for Chhattisgarh in a Ranji Trophy fixture against Oddisha on 9th December, 2019. 

Shashank is known to be a clean hitter of the ball and can also contribute as a handy right-arm fast bowler. In the IPL 2024 season, he showed remarkable improvement, scoring 354 runs from 14 matches at an impressive average of 44.25 and a strike rate of 164.65. His highest score of 68* was one of two half-centuries he scored during the season. Along with 28 fours and 21 sixes, he also took 7 catches, proving to be a valuable asset in the field. Shashank has also excelled in domestic cricket and holds the record as the first Indian First-Class cricketer to score 150+ runs and take a five-wicket haul in the same match. He achieved this by scoring 152 runs and taking 5 wickets for 20 runs in the 2023 Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Manipur in Jaipur, helping Chhattisgarh secure an 88-run win. Shashank Singh got his first IPL contract when Rajasthan Royal (RR) bought him for ₹30 Lakhs in the IPL 2019 auction. He was again retained by RR for IPL 2020, but didn’t get to play a single game in both seasons. Shashank went unsold in IPL 2021 and a later year, he was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad ₹20 Lakhs in the IPL 2022 auction. The right-hander finally made his IPL debut for SRH in a match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) DY Patil Stadium on 9th April, 2022. He played 10 matches in that edition scoring 69 runs at an average of 17.25. He was released by SRH after the season and went unsold at IPL 2023 auction. After a gap of another year, Shashank has been picked by Punjab Kings for ₹20 Lakhs in the IPL 2024 auction. Now, Shashank Singh retain by PBKS for IPL 2025 in 5.50 Cr.

Shashank Singh has proved to be a prominent player in the domestic circuit who could turn the match around with his power-hitting abilities. He will be  joining the PBKS squad in IPL 2024 and is likely to play as a middle order and can also come as a part-time bowler if the team needed. The 32-year-old is yet to give his best in the IPL and will be looking to capitalize on every opportunity he gets for PBKS.
