The inaugural season winner Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to host Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in match number 28 of IPL 2025 at Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Stadium in Jaipur on 13th April. The RR campaign have emerged as one of the strongest sides of this season with two back-to-back victories before losing their last match and are currently standing somewhere at mid of the points table. RR got the winning track back after defeating Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings in their third and fourth matches of the season. However, it was a reality check for RR in an outing against Gujarat Titans in a recent match. For this match, the Royals traveled to Ahmedabad to take on GT at Narendra Modi Stadium. However, RR were stranded from the victory this time around as GT won their fourth match in a row by 58 runs. Now, the Men in Pink will be back at their Fortress in Jaipur to take on RCB in the upcoming match of IPL 2025.
Talking about RCB, they are struggling to get back on the winning track after one loss at their home ground. In their first match of the season, RCB won over Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets at Eden Gardens. However, they couldn’t win all of their matches as Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals exposed shortcomings in bowling-line up failing to defend a score around 160-170. In two other victories, they defeated Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians while battign first. However, RCB couldn’t take advantage of their home conditions as they ended up losing to Delhi Capitals. They are now standing in fourth position moving back and forth in the points table with two losses from five games. Now RCB will face the rival Rajasthan Royals at SMS Stadium and will be looking to repeat what they did when both teams met at the same venue in IPL 2023.

Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur Pitch Report
In the last five fixtures from IPL 2024 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the team batting second came out victorious on three occasions. It looks like that pitch favored bowlers more during the first inning, where the total couldn’t touch the mark of 200 runs. In the second inning, batters exploited the favorable conditions for a surprising turnaround which was also seen in IPL 2023 when Sunrisers Hyderabad could chase down 217 against the home team. Usually at SMS Stadium, the pitch becomes slow as the game progresses and it becomes difficult for the batters to time the ball well.
Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur IPL Records & Stats
The Sawai Man Singh Stadium has hosted 57 IPL matches so far, out of which, 20 matches have been won by the team batting first, while they have won 37 times after batting second. The first-ever IPL match on this ground was played between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab on 21st April 2008.
