After thrashing them at Wankhede Stadium in their previous match, the table toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR) will now host Mumbai Indians in match number 38 of IPL 2024 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on 22nd April. This will be the second time both teams will lock horns against in the ongoing IPL season. The previous match was played at Wankhede Stadium on 1st April, where the RR bowlers completely dominated the MI batters in front of their home crowd as they were restricted to 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal were the star bowlers for RR taking 3 wickets each. In reply, Riyan Parag came up with an unbeaten 54 runs off 39 balls as RR successfully chased the winning target in 15.3 overs losing 4 wickets.
Now, with just one loss in seven matches, RR will be looking for another win against the seventh placed MI and get stronger than the other teams in the race to the playoffs. After losing their first match of the season Gujarat Titans in Jaipur, RR registered thrilling victories against Punjab Kings at Mullanpur and Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens respectively. MI also seem to get back on their winning track after three consecutive losses and defeated Punjab Kings by 9 runs in a close encounter at Mullanpur in their previous match.
