Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are one of the teams that have never won an IPL trophy despite being a part of the tournament since 2008. However, they come in the third spot in the list of IPL teams to qualify for the playoffs most of the time. RCB has qualified for the eight times in the IPL making it into the final three times in 2009, 2011, and 2016.
RCB is one of the most entertaining franchises in the IPL and has an immense fan base all over the country. Now, they will be looking to get their hands on the IPL trophy for the first time in 2024. They will begin their IPL 2024 campaign with an opening match against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings on 22nd March at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, before that, RCB will be hosting an Unbox Event like the previous year. The RCB Unbox 2024 event will take place on 19th March at the RCB’s home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru where they will unveil their jersey for the upcoming season.
The same event took place at Chinnaswamy last year the RCB legends like Ab De Villiers and Chris Gayle were inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame and the franchise officially retired their jersey numbers 17 and 333 respectively. Now, the RCB Unbox event is coming again in 2024 where the popular International DJ and Music Producer Alan Walker will be coming as chief guest.
Talking about the jersey, RCB is one of the franchises that produces stylish jerseys in every season with the perfect combination of colors with their red-colored theme. RCB started with a red-colored jersey with shades of gold in the inaugural IPL in 2008. With years, RCB added a shade of blue along with their original them of Red and Gold. In the recent, the RCB players can be seen donning a red and black jersey with Golden colored Helmet and Pads.

1. 2008

Making their first appearance in the inaugural IPL season in 2008, Royal Challengers Bangalore introduced themselves with a red-colored theme jersey. The jersey was designed by a renowned sports brand Reebok. With red as a main color, the jersey had shades of Yellow which was similar to the color of the unofficial Kannada flag. The star cricketers like Jacques Kallis, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Mark Boucher, Dale Steyn, Virat Kohli, and Ross Taylor took up filed the field donning the iconic OG red and gold jersey in IPL 2008.
2. 2009

In 2009, RCB made slight changes in their jersey with a lighter shade of Yellow along with the main red-colored theme. The golden stripes also came on the trousers, and players at the back were also written in the same color. In that season, RCB qualified for the final for the first time.
3. 2010

This time, RCB replaced the shades of Yellow with Gold in both sides and shoulder of the red-colored jersey. The stripes on the shoulder even got broader. Finishing as the runners-up in the previous edition, RCB had a decent season in IPL 2010 where they finished fourth in the points table. However, they ended up losing to Mumbai Indians in the semi-finals.
4. 2011-2012-2013

In 2011, RCB introduced shades of blue along with the main red and golden colored theme. In the same season, RCB announced their Go Green initiative, due to which, the players don a green color jersey once in every IPL season. RCB reached their second IPL final in that season and ended up losing to Chennai Super Kings in the title clash. The franchise made no changes in their jersey design in IPL 2012 and 2013
5. 2014

In 2014, the darker shade of blue dominated against the golden on shoulders, sleeves, and trousers. Along with this, the shade of red also became darker, and the line of Gold in between made the jersey look premium.
6. 2015

Major sportswear brand took over as the manufacturer this time and introduced a collared jersey for the RCB first time in 2015 with the same color pattern of Red-Blue and Gold. The blue color was eliminated from the shoulder and covered the sleeves, while the golden color took over the collar and side of the jersey.
7. 2016-2017-2018-2019

Within one year, Adidas ended its contract with RCB and Zeven became the new kit manufacturer of the franchise in IPL 2016. This time, RCB came with a completely new jersey pattern with the combination of the Red, Black, blue, and golden colors getting eliminated completely. In this season, RCB also came with the concept of home and away jerseys. During the home matches at Chinnaswamy, the RCB players used to don jerseys with red color dominating against the black, and vice versa during the away matches.
8. 2020-2021

Clothing and apparel brand Wrogn took over as the jersey manufacturer for RCB in IPL 2020. However, they didn’t make any changes in the jersey color and design with red stripes taking over the shoulders in 2021. During the IPL 2021 season, RCB players donned a special Blue Color jersey, unlike the green jersey in previous seasons. The initiative was taken by the franchise to pay tribute to all the frontline warriors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
9. 2022-2023

The slight changes made in jersey design with black color dominating against the red and covering most parts of the jersey. The best part of this jersey was the trace of the lion element using the colors of the jersey.
