After finishing as runners-up in the previous season, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be aiming for having their hands on IPL trophy after 2016 in IPL 2025 under skipper Pat Cummins. The champions of the 2016 season, SRH did their best in the last season finishing at 2nd spot as a runners-up in IPL 2024. Now, they have retained Australia’s World Cup-winning captain as their skipper for IPL 2025.

Out of these 81 games, the team batting first come out victorious on 35 occasions, while 46 times, the team have won by chasing on this ground. The first-ever IPL match at this ground was played between Deccan Chargers and Delhi Daredevils on 22nd April, 2008. Delhi won that match by 9 wickets against the hosts with Virendra Sehwag remaining unbeaten on 94 runs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have played a total of 61 matches in IPL at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. One match against Gujarat Titans was abandoned due to rain without a ball bowled. Out of the 60 games, they have won 38 and have a winning percentage of 63.33%. After becoming a part of the IPL, SRH played their first game on this ground 5th April 2013, where they defeated Pune Warriors India by 22 runs defending 126 runs in a low-scoring encounter. The last match SRH played on this ground was against Gujarat Titans on 6th April, 2025 during IPL 2025. Batting first on that game, SRH posted 152 for 8, but GT successfully chased down the target with the help of the blazing half-century by skipper Shubman Gill.

Former SRH skipper David Warner is the highest run-getter in IPL at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The left has amassed 1623 runs from 32 matches at an average of 64.92. Veteran Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan comes in the second spot with 1477 runs from 47 matches, followed by Heinrich Klassen who has scored 543 runs from 16 matches in IPL at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Star pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar tops the list of the leading wicket takers in IPL matches at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The right-arm pacer has taken 48 scalps from 49 matches on this ground, followed by Amit Mishra, who has taken 30 wickets from 27 games. Afghan spinner Rashid Khan finds himself third in the list with 28 scalps from 22 games.
