The 17th season of the Indian Premier League is set to kickstart on 22nd March with a match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at M.A Chidambaram Stadium. The second match of the season will be played between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the newly developed Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali on 23rd March.
Both PBKS and DC are in search of their maiden IPL trophy for the last 16 years. Now, they will begin their IPL 2024 campaign against each other and will look to finally end their trophy drought in the upcoming season.

The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium will be hosting its first-ever IPL match on 23rd March, 2024 and is the new home ground of Punjab Kings. Looking at the previous domestic records at this ground, the surface of the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh stadium is mostly suitable for the batters, and we can expect a high-scoring match.
