It took Kolkata Knight Riders 12 years to register a win at Wankhede Stadium, and they did it in style. Match No. 51 saw a MI vs KKR clash in Mumbai. It started with MI winning the toss, and they put KKR to bat first. That decision turned out to be right, as KKR was at 57/5 in 6.1 overs.
But then, Venkatesh Iyer and Manish Pandey (42 off 31) added an 83-run stand for the sixth wicket. Iyer scored 70 off 52 balls to take KKR to 169 runs in 19.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah (3/18) and Nuwan Thushara (3/42) took three wickets each.
MI had a chance to win a game here, but their batting collapsed once again. MI lost its first six wickets for just 71 runs. Suryakumar Yadav scored a fighting fifty and scored 56 runs off 35 balls. Tim David also played a good hand for his 20-ball 24.
But Mitchell Starc made sure that KKR ended with two points. He took three wickets in the 19th over to seal the deal for KKR. MI got all out for 145 runs and lost by 24 runs. Starc ended up with 4/33 with the ball.

Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders Fantasy Player of the Match
Jasprit Bumrah collected 106 fantasy points for his 3/18 in 3.5 overs. He was leading the race until the last over of the match. Mitchell Starc dismissed Tim David, Piyush Chawla, and Gerald Coetzee in one over to end up with 4/33. As a result, Starc collected 128 points and won the Fantasy Player of the Match award.

Venkatesh didn’t have many chances earlier in the TATA IPL 2024, but today he got his chance after the top order failed. His innings was one reason that KKR reached a fighting total, which ended up being a winning total. It also helped KKR get two important points and strengthen their position in second place. As a result, Iyer was named Man of the Match.
