The IPL 2024 is around the corner and the franchises have started preparations for the 17th edition of the tournament. All the 10 franchises finalised their squads for IPL 2024 after the auction in Dubai on 19th December, 2023. All teams made strategies and plans to include their favorite players into their squad in the given budget. Most of the team got what they wanted after the auction and ticked all the boxes for IPL 2024.
However, things don’t always work according to the plans as most of the key players have been ruled out of IPL 2024 due to different reasons. There are several players who earned big bucks in the IPL 2024 auction and trading window, but now will not be seen taking part in the tournament, with every player having a reason of his own.
However, the franchises don’t take much time to announce the replacement that can fulfill the position of a ruled out player. Till now, a total of seven players from six teams have ruled out of the IPL 2024, with only three replacements found so far.
In the following article, we will have a look at the list of all the ruled out players from IPL 2024 and their replacements.
Ruled Out Players From Kolkata Knight Riders
1. Jason Roy

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) got their first shock ahead of IPL 2024 as their star batter Jason Roy opted out of the upcoming season due to family reasons. Roy has been a part of KKR since IPL 2023 after the franchise bought him at a price of ₹2 Crore in the auction. He played eight matches in that season accumulating 285 runs at strike rate of 151.60. He was among the players retained by KKR ahead of IPL 2024 auction with his salary increasing to ₹2.80 Crore.
However, now England’s opening batter has decided to withdraw from IPL 2024 as he wants to spend time with his family. Replacement: Soon after Jason Roy opted out of IPL 2024, KKR announced his fellow England cricket Phil Salt as a replacement for the upcoming season. Salt was a part of the Delhi Capitals squad in IPL 2023 where he amassed 218 runs from nine games with a strike rate of 163.91.
