KKR vs SRH: Finally, the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League has come to an end, and Kolkata Knight Riders went on to clinch their third title on Sunday. It was a high-profile final between them and Sunrisers Hyderabad, but it ended as a one-sided affair, and KKR went on to thrash SRH completely.
Only the toss went in SRH’s favour, which they won, and they decided to bat first. Mitchell Starc once again provided his team with a breakthrough in the first over. He dismissed both SRH openers cheaply to give his team a brilliant start. SRH lost their top four batters within just 7 overs and were going below 6 runs per over.
Only two batters scored 20 or more runs. The SRH skipper Pat Cummins was the top scorer, as he took 24 off 19 balls. Andre Russell took three wickets, while Starc and Harshit Rana took two wickets each. SRH were bowled out for just 113 runs in 18.3 overs. Chasing a small score, KKR had a brilliant start. Rahmanullah Gurbaz played a good cameo.
Venkatesh Iyer smashed a 24-ball fifty and took his team home. KKR made 114/2 in just 10.3 overs and registered an 8-wicket win with 57 balls to spare. It is the biggest win in an IPL final in terms of balls spared. With that, KKR won their third title, and it took them a decade to clinch their next title. After CSK and MI, KKR are now the only team to win three IPL titles.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad EV Electric Striker of the Match
It was a low-scoring game, and SRH had a horrible batting display. But Venkatesh Iyer was at his blistering best. He smashed a 24-ball fifty in Qualifier 1 against SRH, and here he also slammed another 24-ball fifty. He scored an unbeaten 52 off 26 balls, with four fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 200, to win the EV Electric Striker of the Match award.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Mitchell Starc, and Andre Russell were among the players who collected the most fantasy points. Russell had 83 points, while Gurbaz and Starc received 84 points each. However, Starc set the tone for KKR with two wickets, and he won the Fantasy Player of the Match award.

Every KKR bowler bowled well, and their four bowlers went below the economy rate of 6 or less. Harshit Rana bowled a brilliant spell of 2/24, including a maiden, and bowled 13 dot balls. As a result, he won the TATA Green Dot Balls of the Match award.

Only nine sixes were hit in the KKR vs SRH final. SRH hit three, while KKR hit six. Venkatesh Iyer alone had three sixes in his innings and scored a 26-ball 52. He won the Angel One Super 6s of the Match award.

The KKR opening Rahmanullah Gurbaz also played a good hand and scored 39 runs off 32 balls, with five fours and two sixes. He hit most boundaries in the match and won the On-the-Go 4s of the Match award.

It was once again Mitchell Starc who did the main damage for SRH. He dismissed dangerous Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma in the game and ended up with a bowling figure of 2/14. As a result, he won the Player of the Match award for his brilliant spell.

SRH had a horrible batting collapse, and they couldn’t get going. KKR bowled well and dismissed SRH for 113, which is the lowest ever IPL final total.

It was none other than Virat Kohli, who was phenomenal this season. The former RCB captain scored runs in almost every game and went on to win his second Orange Cap award. Virat scored 741 runs in 15 innings at an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.75, with one century and five half-centuries, including a best of 113 not out.
IPL 2024 Purple Cap
After Bhuvneshwar Kumar and DJ Bravo, Harshal Patel became only the second bowler to win the Purple Cap twice in the IPL. After 2021, he won this award in 2024 as well. Harshal took a total of 24 wickets in 14 innings at an economy rate of 9.73 and a best of 3/15.

It was none other than Sunil Narine, who played a huge role in KKR’s winning way. He contributed heavily with the bat and the ball and won the Most Valuable Player of the Season award. Narine scored 488 runs with the bat, with one century and three half-centuries. He also took 17 wickets at an economy rate of 6.69. He also won INR 10 lakh as a cash prize.
IPL 2024: Best Ground of the Season
The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) won the Best Ground of the Season award in the IPL 2024. As a result, the ground association won the cash money of INR 50 lakh.

KKR’s Ramandeep Singh won the Best Catch of the Match award. He took the catch of Kulkarni in the LSG vs KKR clash off Starc’s bowling and won NR 10 lakh as a cash prize.

There were a number of contenders, but SRH’s all-rounder, Nitish Reddy, bagged the Emerging Player of the Season award. He scored 303 runs in 11 innings at an average and strike rate of 33.66 and 142.92, respectively, and also took three wickets. Nitish also won the prize money of INR 10 lakh.

The best Striker of the Season goes to a player who scores runs at the best strike rate. This season had a few batters scoring runs at a strike rate of over 200, and Delhi Capitals’ Jake Fraser McGurk was the best of the lot. The DC opener scored 330 runs in nine innings at an excellent strike rate of 234.04 and won the Striker of the Season award with an INR 10 lakh cash prize.

When you can contribute with bat and ball, then who can collect more fantasy points than you? Sunil Narine scored 488 runs at a strike rate of 180.74 and took 17 wickets at an economy rate of 6.69. He won the Fantasy Player of the Season award with a cash prize of INR 10 lakh.

Travis Head had a brilliant season with the bat. He scored 567 runs at an average and strike rate of 40.50 and 191.55. He hit 64 fours and 32 sixes. He hit the most boundaries and won the Most Fours in the Season award with a cash prize of INR 10 lakh.
