Ishant Sharma made his IPL debut in 2008 after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) acquired his services for INR 3.8 crore in the auction. After three years, he was sold to Deccan Charger (DC) for INR 2.07 Crore ahead of IPL 2011. After two years with DC, Ishant joined Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹2.07 crore for IPL 2013. His salary was increased to 2.6 crore in IPL 2014. In 2016, he joined Rising Pune Supergiants at the price of 3.8 crore.
