It was a game of two halves, with KKR dominating the first inning. But it was a great comeback by RCB as they restricted KKR to just 174/8 in the first innings.
Captain Ajinkya Rahane slammed a 25-ball fifty on his captaincy debut. He, along with Sunil Narine (44 off 26), added 103 runs for the second wicket. But Krunal Pandya (3/29) and Josh Hazlewood (2/22) brought RCB back to the game. Chasing the score, RCB got off to a flyer, and both openers added 80/0 in the powerplay.
Phil Salt (56 off 31) and Virat Kohli (59* off 39) scored important half-centuries. Captain Rajat Patidar (34 off 16) also played a brilliant cameo. RCB scored 177/3 in 16.2 overs to register their first win on the board. With this, KKR suffered their first defeat at home against RCB since 2019.
Virat also reached a big landmark and completed 1000 runs against KKR in the IPL. The former RCB captain was playing his 400th T20 game and completed his 98th fifty and 56th in the IPL. Virat now has 1000 runs in the IPL against KKR, CSK, DC, and PBKS.

KKR vs RCB Fantasy Player of the Game
There were three players who earned more than 120 fantasy points in the KKR vs RCB game. Phil Salt and Ajinkya Rahane earned 122 points each. But Sunil Narine was the one who earned the most points. He collected 126 points for his 44 off 26 and 1-27 with the ball. His all-round performance earned him the Fantasy Player of the Match award.

Josh Hazlewood bowled a superb spell of 2/22 in his four overs. He bowled 24 balls, and 16 of them were dot balls. As a result, Hazlewood won the TATA IPL Dream Dot Ball of the Match award.
