The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) always makes sure that whatever they do should be in regards to making more improvements in the IPL. That is why, before implementing the Impact Player rule in the IPL, the BCCI used it in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) in 2023.
