5. David Miller and Glenn Maxwell (135) vs CSK in 2014

Punjab reached the finals of the 2014 season, and it was their best season overall. During that edition, in match no. 29 against CSK in Cuttack. David Miller and Glenn Maxwell registered Punjab’s fifth-highest IPL partnership. Batting first, Punjab posted their second-highest total of 231/4, with Maxwell (90 off 38) and Miller (47 off 32) adding 135 runs for the third wicket. CSK scored 187/6 in reply and lost by 44 runs.
4. Adam Gilchrist and Paul Valthaty (136) vs Deccan Chargers in 2011

The fourth-highest IPL partnership for Punjab came in a chasing scenario during the 2011 edition. This was the game against Deccan Chargers in Hyderabad. After winning the toss, Punjab bowled first. Deccan Chargers made 165/8 in the first innings. In reply, Punjab got off to a good start with a 136-run opening stand between Adam Gilchrist (61 off 46) and Paul Valthaty (75 off 47). Punjab made 166/2 and won the game. Valthaty registered one of the best all-rounder performances. He also took 4/29 with the ball.
3. Shaun Marsh and Azhar Mahmood (148) vs MI in 2013

Shaun Marsh was the most successful batter for the franchise. He, along with Azhar Mahmood, added the third-highest IPL partnership to the franchise. It came in the 69th game of the 2013 edition. Punjab scored 183/8, and Marsh (63 off 47) and Mahmood (80 off 44) added 148 runs for the third wicket. In the chase, MI got bowled out for 133 runs and lost by 50 runs.
2. Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul (183) vs RR in 2020

Match No. 9 of the 2020 season between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals saw the highest IPL chase ever. It was a run-feast of the game. Batting first, Punjab scored a massive 223/2. Both openers added 183 runs in 16.3 overs. KL Rahul scored 69 off 54, and Mayank Agarwal made a 50-ball 106. But that happiness didn’t last long, as Rajasthan made 226/6 in 19.3 overs to register the highest chase. Hence, Punjab’s second-biggest partnership came in a losing cause.

The first incident of a pair going past the 200-run mark in a partnership was registered by Punjab’s Shaun Marsh and Adam Gilchrist. It happened in the 63rd game of the 2011 season against RCB in Dharamsala. Batting first, Punjab posted their highest IPL total of 232/2. Gilchris (106 off 55) and Marsh (79* off 49) added 206 runs for the second wicket. Chasing this huge target, RCB fell apart and got bowled out for 121 runs. Punjab won that game by 111 runs.
