7. Jos Buttler – 110* vs RCB in 2022
Jos Buttler is one of those who has had an IPL century in the playoffs. The 2022 season was the best for the English opener; he scored over 800 runs and made four centuries. One of his centuries came against RCB in Qualifier 2 at Narendra Modi Stadium. RCB made 157/8 in the first inning. RR reached the target in 18.1 overs and made 161/3 to advance to the finals. Buttler scored an unbeaten 106 off 60 balls, with ten fours and six sixes, to lead his team to victory.
6. Rajat Patidar – 112* vs LSG in 2022
In the 2022 season itself, RCB made it to Qualifier 2 after winning the Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants. And they won it with the help of a superb hundred from Rajat Patidar. This match took place at Eden Gardens, and RCB posted a total of 207/4 in the first inning. Patidar scored 112 not out from 54 balls, with 12 fours and seven sixes. LSG managed 193/6 and lost by 14 runs. Rajat’s 112* is the highest for an RCB batter in the playoffs.
5. Murali Vijay – 113 vs DC in 2012
The fifth-highest score by a batter in an IPL playoff is registered by Murali Vijay. He made it during Qualifier 2 of the 2012 season when Chennai Super Kings took on Delhi Daredevils. Delhi won the toss and decided to bowl, but that decision didn’t go well for them. CSK posted the third-highest playoff total of 222/5. Vijay scored 113 off 58 balls, with 15 fours and four sixes. Delhi got bowled out for 136 runs, and CSK advanced to the finals.
4. Wriddhiman Saha – 115* vs KKR in 2014
The final of the 2014 edition between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders was a high-scoring game in Bengaluru. It started with Punjab batting first and scoring a big total of 199/4. Wriddhiman Saha, who batted at No. 4, scored a brilliant ton. He made 115 not out from 55 balls, with 10 fours and 8 sixes. But his innings was overshadowed by Manish Pandey’s 94 off 50. He helped KKR reach 200/7 in 19.3 overs, and Kolkata became the champions.
3. Shane Watson – 117* vs SRH in 2018
The finals of the 2018 edition saw a one-sided win for Chennai Super Kings, and they lifted their third title. Most importantly, they won the 2018 edition after facing a two-year ban. And it was Shane Watson who played the inning of a lifetime in the final. CSK faced Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede. SRH made 178/6 in 20 overs. Watson scored a brilliant 57-ball 117 not out, including 8 sixes and 11 fours, to take CSK to a historic win.
2. Virender Sehwag – 122 vs CSK in 2014
Virender Sehwag made history during Qualifier 2 of the 2014 edition. Punjab Kings faced Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium. After winning the toss, CSK bowled first. Punjab went on to post the second-highest playoff total of 226/6, with Sehwag scoring 112 off 58 balls, including 8 sixes and 12 fours. In reply, CSK also tried hard but managed 202/7 and lost by 24 runs, and Punjab reached the finals.
1. Shubman Gill – 129 vs MI in 2023
The record for the highest score in an IPL playoff is held by Shubman Gill. He made it during Qualifier 2 of the 2023 edition. Gujarat Titans took on Mumbai Indians at Narendra Modi Stadium. Batting first, GT ended the first innings with the highest total in the IPL playoffs ever. They made 233/3, with Gill scoring 129 off 60 balls, with 7 fours and 10 sixes. It was the second consecutive ton for Gill that season. MI got bowled out for 171, and GT made it to the finals. But they lost the final to CSK.
