The IPL 2025 is in the pipeline! The media has already gushed over the upcoming biggest IPL trade ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Multiple media have reported that RCB will go after the LSG skipper KL Rahul, Whereas Rishabh Pant is likely to play for Chennai Super Kings. Another report claims that former Mumbai Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav will say goodbye to the squad.

1. KL Rahul to Join RCB in IPL 2025

Earlier in the 2024 IPL season, a heated chat video between LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka and skipper KL Rahul went viral on the Internet. In the video Sanjev Goenka’s outbursts on KL Rahul for losing a match. However, the two solve their dispute over the family dinner at Goenka’s house. 

Having said that, looks like the matter was solved but now multiple reports have been emerging claiming that KL Rahul is leaving Lucknow Super Giants for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In fact, according to sources, KL Rahul will succeed Faf Du Plessis and will lead ahead of the IPL 2025 season. 

KL Rahl bagged 520 runs with an average of 37.14 and a strike rate of 136.13 in 14 games he played for the Lucknow Super Giants. Where LSG skipper KL Rahul is probably packing his stuff from the locker room reportedly LSG approached former India great VVS Laxman for the head coaching staff. His most recent coaching experience was with Team India during the 5 T20I series on Zimbabwe Tour.

2. Rishabh Pant To leave DC and join CSK

The next IPL 2025 Trade is that Rishabh Pant is leaving Delhi Capitals and could be part of the Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming season. Via reports, the star wicketkeeper and batter Rishabh Pant couldn’t impress the franchise with his captaincy in the IPL 2024. Many cricket pundits have speculated that Chennai Super Kings will likely welcome Rishabh Pant on the board while MS Dhoni’s has an uncertain future in the upcoming IPL 2025. As a successor of MS Dhoni in the wicketkeeping Rishabh Pant will replace him behind the stumps in CSK. 

Despite the Rishabh Pant one-year gap after a brutal car accident, he amassed 446 runs with a 40.55 average and 155.40 strike rate in 13 games. He caught 11 catches and 5 stumping during the IPL 2024 season. 

3. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav leaves MI

Another Biggest IPL trade would be Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav who might be traded with KKR ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025. In the previous IPL season, the MI franchise decided to replace Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya. A decision that was not appreciated by the Rohit fans ended up trolling Hardik Pandya during the games ultimately disrupting the dressing room environment. 

Several reports claim that this is the main reason behind Rohit Sharma’s leaving Mumbai Indians. Another player is Suryakumar Yadav who is also thinking about leaving the Mumbai Paltan. If this happens then Kolkata Knight Riders would like to grab the opportunity and will trade these in the upcoming IPL 2025.     

IPL 2025 Mega Auction 

BCCI and IPL franchises are getting ready for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction similar to the one in the 2022 IPL season. It has been a tradition since the inception of the tournament that an auction is held before the actual tournament where all the franchises wager on Indian and overseas players. For the IPL 18 season, the Mega auction will be scheduled between December 2024 to February 2025. 

What is the IPL Trade Window and When will IPL Trade Window 2025 open 

There is also an IPL trading window which traditionally opens a month after the previous season concludes. This trading window remains open until a week before the IPL Auction starts and then continues to stay open for a month before the actual season starts. Usually, franchises do a trade which can be an all-cash deal or a player-for-player swap to readjust their squad and strategies. So far there are no details about IPL 2025 Trading Window. 

Biggest IPL Trade in 2024

The biggest IPL trade in 2024 which made a stir on social media was Hardik Pandya leaving Gujarat Titans for Mumbai Indians after two successful stints with the Gujarat Titans as a captain. Pandya not only returned to his home franchise but also replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain of the Mumbai Indians.
