The 2023 ICC ODI World Cup has almost reached its halfway stage with 18 games played so far. In these 18 matches, we have witnessed some of the iconic moments and performances in terms of batting, bowling, and fielding. Some of the memorable moments from the 2023 World Cup include Afghanistan defeating the defending champions England in Delhi to register their second win in World Cup history, followed by the Netherlands’ historic win against the in-form South African side in Dharamshala to produce another World Cup upset.
Each of the 10 participating teams has given some exceptional performances in the tournament so far none of them are out from the race semi-final. The runner-ups of the previous edition, New Zealand are currently at the top of the points table with four wins out of four matches played. The hosts, India are just behind them and are also unbeaten with four consecutive wins. Now both teams will lock horns against each other on 22nd October, Sunday at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, where one of the sides will suffer their first defeat of the tournament.
Talking about other teams, the five-time champions Australia are finally back to their winning after consecutive defeats in the first two games, by winning their next couple of games against Sri Lanka and Pakistan respectively. Pakistan and England find themselves in the fifth and sixth position respectively with Pakistan winning two from four games and England getting one win from three games so far. On the other hand, Sri Lanka is the only team who are yet to win a game in the ongoing tournament with three losses from three matches played so far.
