ICC Umpire Salary in Test Cricket
Officiating as an umpire in a five-day Test match is not an easy job to do. Umpires have to stand for straight five days and it becomes a more challenging task in countries like India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka where you also have to deal with the heat waves. However, the umpire also gets the maximum amount for officiating in a Test match as compared to the other two formats of the game. The umpire is paid $5000 for one Test match and the amount is the same whether the match finishes in two days or five days.
ICC Umpire Salary in ODI Cricket
ODI cricket is one of the oldest formats of the game and is widely popular among cricket fans. However, the popularity of the ODI format has been declining for the last few years but it has now again become a hot topic among fans because of the ongoing 2023 ODI World Cup in India. The umpires get a good amount of money for officiating in an ODI match. They get $3000 per match in a 50-over format of the game at international level.

ICC Umpire Salary in T20I Cricket
The T20I format has gained immense popularity over the years and now has become the most popular format of cricket among fans. Nowadays, fans prefer to watch a full T20 match as it takes about 3 hours to get overs and you don’t have to sit all day like the Test and ODI. The umpire also gets the least payment for T20I matches i.e. $1500 per match.

Nitin Menon
Indian umpire Nitin Menon is known for his precise umpiring skills and has been nailing in his job for the last few years. He has officiated in 25 Tests, 66 ODIs and 61 T20I matches as an ICC Umpire so far. His annual income is around $130K-140K.
Chris Gaffaney
Chris Gaffaney is very popular among cricketing nations and finds himself in the ICC Elite List of Umpires. He has officiated in many knockout matches of big ICC tournaments like the ODI and T20I World Cup. Gaffaney has officiated in 80 Test matches, 125 ODIs and 59 T20Is as an ICC umpire. His annual income is around $140k.

- The ICC umpire gets free travel and accommodation from the Apex Cricket Council during the matches. Whether it is a bilateral series or an ICC tournament, all the travel expenses for the umpires will be looked after by the ICC.
- The umpires also earn through sponsorships other than officiating in a cricket match. Dubai airline company Fly Emirates is the current sponsor of the ICC Elite Umpires Panel which pays $10k to the umpires.
- After retiring from the job of an umpire, they also get the benefit of becoming a part of ICC again in a new role.
- The umpires also get Health insurance by the ICC in case of any health issue related to them. These are the extra benefits that an umpire gets from the ICC.
