Najmul Hossain is a left handed batsman who started his career at the age of 15. He came in attention when he hit a double century in a school one-day match, his unbelievable performance helped him to select in Bangladesh’s under 17s and from here his career took flight and got selected in Under-19 World Cup, 2014.  

In 2016 his career was at its peak, especially in the Under-19 World Cup, receiving back-to-back man of the match awards against South Africa and Scotland. He was Bangladesh’ top scorer in the same year, scoring 259 runs. Additionally, looking at his ODI career, he has played a total of 47 matches and scored 1488 runs at an average of 34.60. In 2023, Shanto scored 146, making his first Test century in a one-off Test series against Afghanistan, at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.
