Previously known as the Beausejour Cricket Ground is built in 2002 originally named after the Beausejour hills. Later it was changed to Daren Sammy Cricket Ground or Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium. The stadium is located near Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, West Indies. It is one of the newest stadiums situated on the outskirts of the tourist resort area of Rodney Bay on the island’s northeast coast.
The Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium or Beausejour Stadium is one of the newest grounds with many sports facilities. In the past, the venue held only 12,400 but later construction added up to 15,000 seating capacity for the spectators.
Speaking of the facility, the Daren Sammy Stadium is constructed on 22 acres. The stadium has two bowling ends, 18 hospitality suites, and a pavilion with a gym and lounge apart from a balcony and conference room.
It is one of the ICC T20 World Cup venues selected to host a few matches. It will host its first T20 game between Australia and Scotland on Sunday 16th June in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
