The Brian Lara Cricket Academy is a multi-purpose stadium used to serve many purposes in the West Indies region. It is located in the city of Tarouba in southern Trinidad, just outside the heart of the city of San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago.
The Stadium is named after West Indies’ legendary former captain Brian Lara to honor his great establishment in cricket. It has 15,000 fixed seats for the cricket fans and grass banks to hold the extra crowd.
It was built in 2007 to host the ICC World Cup warm-up matches, however, it wasn’t ready at that time so the matches were moved to a different venue. After the World Cup, the stadium was turned into a Cricket academy and hosted many cricket matches including local and international.
Ahead of the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, the Brian Lara Stadium will host 5 T20 World Cup games. West Indies vs New Zealand will be the first match held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
