In the ongoing SL vs NZ 2nd Test match, Sri Lanka’s middle-batter Kamindu Mendis registered his fifth century and became the fastest Asian batter to score five centuries in Test cricket.

Kamindu also equalled Sir Don Bradman in the fastest test 1000 runs reaching the landmark in just 13 innings. On Friday, 27 September, Galle International Stadium became the bystander of Kamindu’s phenomenal innings, when Sri Lanka’s batter bagged an unbeaten 182 off 250 balls including 16 boundaries and 4 maximums.

Currently, Sri Lanka finished their first innings of 602 runs with a humongous contribution of Kamindu Mendis (182*) and Kusal Mendis (106*) not to forget Dinesh Chandimal (116) at the Galle International Stadium.
